Tyler is a music educator and composer that has established himself as a fixture in the Southern California Band and Marching Arts scene. Having gained over a decade of experience in brass-wind performance, marching & classical percussion, as well as having performed in a variety of different performing ensembles. Tyler now serves as a composer and instructor for many school music programs throughout Southern California.

Tyler’s ensemble experience spans since the beginning of middle school, performing in every ensemble his school’s provided through high school. Seeking more opportunities to learn, he started to branch out to performing in various ensembles outside of his school’s music programs. Performing as Principal Horn for the Inland Valley Youth Symphony during, then as a horn player for the Bravura Youth Symphony.

As soon as Tyler was introduced to the marching arts through his high school marching band program, he instantly fell in love with the activity. While performing in his high school marching band, Tyler sought to take his newfound passion to a more competitive level by entering the Drum and Bugle Corps scene.
Tyler travelled the country and participated in the DCI World Championships three times with Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as the WGI Percussion World Championships for 2 years in a row with Dark Sky Percussion. Tyler’s final year of performing in the marching arts ended with him bringing Gold DBC to the Open Class World Championships as their Head Drum Major in 2018.

Tyler received his bachelor’s degree in Music with a focus in Music Composition at the University of California, Riverside. Most notably debuting his percussion arranging skills for San Jacinto High School’s 2018 production of “Stranger Things,” Tyler works as a composer and instructor for various band programs throughout Southern California.
